Paris Rooftops

Zinc, chimney pots and graffiti, painted then crumpled

The rooftops of Paris, crowned with zinc and dotted with chimneys, like the rooftops of the world more generally, embody a timeless aesthetic that speaks of both nostalgia and modernity. These skylines, rising like urban sculptures, are a deep source of inspiration in my work. Through my paintings I try to capture not only the visual beauty of these landscapes but also the vibrant soul they carry.

Each oil painting I make is an intimate interpretation of Parisian rooftops, enriched with details such as tags, witnesses of contemporary urban life. But where my approach goes beyond painting alone is in the process of transformation: I crumple the canvas, distorting its surface to give birth to a work in relief. This gesture, both spontaneous and calculated, gives my work a third dimension and blurs the line between painting and sculpture.

My ambition is to send the soul of Parisian rooftops travelling around the world, to make it resonate in people's hearts, where art becomes a bridge between cultures and imaginations. I invite you to discover this alchemy of matter and emotion, in which each painting is an ode to the universal dialogue between people, the city and time.

My techniqueOil painting on canvas, which I crumple and model like a sculpture. When I am satisfied with the result, I set the sculpted canvas with resin.
